Greetings Families and Community Partners,
We are starting a new TeenWorks session in January and we have openings. This is a free community based Vocational/Life-Prep Transition Program serving teens 13-18 years of age, on the autism spectrum, to help them gain vocational work skills in multiple community settings. They also gain the social and life skills needed for a more successful transition into paid working positions and other areas of adulthood. Another component of this program will help the teens find their niche or passion in life while building their vocational resume!
The AUCD (Association of University Centers on Disabilities) recommends that families start the transition process as early as possible, ideally around 12 to 14 years of age of the child.
Therefore, we will be developing and offering Person Centered Transition Planning and/or Referrals in collaboration with many community partners for our clients as needed.
Please review the attached application, program overview and Community Orientation Invitation for January 15th if you are interested. The application must be filled out and returned prior to the Community Orientation and let us know if you have any other questions!
Have a wonderful Holiday Season!

Success ~ To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthier child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded!
