Wilshire Community Police Council Event "A Night At The Museum" Jan 27, 2011
- On January 27, 2011, the Wilshire Community Police Council will kick off the year with a very special event, "A Night at The Sports Museum". The monies raised will fund a 12 week boot camp for at-risk youth and programs for the Cadets (ages 13-19) and Deputy Auxiliary Police (age 9-120.
The event will be held at the L.A. Sports Museum, which is open by invitation only and is the largest and broadest known collection of iconic sports memorabilia and collectibles in the world. The museum contains 10,000 artifacts including Babe Ruth's 1934 uniform, Joe DiMaggion's ball from his legendary 56-game hitting streak, the original cornerstone from Yankee Stadium, the first balls used at Ebbets Field (1913) and Fenway Park (1912), the jersey worn by Gary Cooper in the movie "Pride Of The Yankees" and much, much more.
