      COMMUNITY ALERT
      NOTIFICATION
      LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
      OLYMPIC AREA

Olympic Division has recently experienced an increase in theft of personal property from community members on the street. Olympic Division has implemented crime fighting stratergies to reduce this crime and to apprehend these suspects. We are working together in partnership with businesses and residential communities to reduce the incidents of theft within the Olympic area and throughout the city.

Suspects are targeting indivduals that are walking the street alone or waiting at a bus stop. The property taken has been cell phones and jewelry / necklaces. The common trend has been that victims were distracted at the time the crime occurred.

Things you can do to protect your property:

      -Don't walk alone at night.

-When waiting for a bus, put your back up against the wall to maintain awareness.

-Don't carry large amounts of cash in your purse.

      -Don't leave your property unattended.

-Install a tracking device on your cell phone.

Maintain awareness! Report all suspicious activity and persons to 911!
