If you have or know incoming 6th or 7th graders, there is an extraordinary
new charter school opening in 7 days -- The City School. This is an amazing
opportunity to get into the kind of school that in a year hundreds of
families will be saying, "You're SO lucky you got in!" They have a few
spots left for 6th and 7th grade this fall. School starts Aug 27.

This tuition-free public charter school was started by many of the founding educators responsible for Larchmont Charter and is located in mid-LA, not a bad commute from Larchmont Village.

THERE WILL BE AN OPEN HOUSE FOR PROSPECTIVE 6th AND 7th GRADERS THIS THURS,
AUG 23, 5-7PM AT THE SCHOOL SITE, 1518 S. ROBERTSON BLVD (south of Pico).

The City School will start with grades 6 and 7 this year, adding a grade
each year to eventually be a 6-12 school. Class size is 14-24 kids per
class (English is 14 kids), PE 4x/week outside, and 4x/week language class
(options include Spanish, Hebrew, Mandarin and Korean, among others.)

neighbors, and colleagues with middle school aged kids. City offers a
hands-on learning environment that is based on the constructivist model,
emphasizing discussion and debate, writing, complex reasoning, and critical
      thinking.

      Mission Statement
The City School is a public charter school providing an exceptional
education to a diverse student body. Through individual attention in a
supportive and dynamic learning environment, students become creative and
critical thinkers who ask questions, debate, and express ideas fearlessly
and respectfully. With a focus on civic responsibility, public speaking,
and the written word, City School students are prepared for a lifetime of
meaningful work and ongoing service to causes greater than themselves.

      Thanks!
