Group Description

La Leche League is an international, non-profit, non-sectarian organization dedicated to helping mothers to breastfeed though mother-to-mother support, encouragement, information, and education and to promoting a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of the baby and mother.

La Leche League Leaders are volunteers who have happily breastfed their own children. Our meetings are informal discussions among mothers. Each month's discussion touches on one of a series of planned topics, dealing with the practical, physical, and psychological aspects of breastfeeding.

Our Group holds three Series Meetings per month.

Evening Meeting:
First Wednesday of every month, 6:00-7:30 p.m.
San Francisco Public Library, Richmond Branch
351 9th Ave. (between Geary and Clement)
Note: This is not a Library Sponsored Program.

Morning Meeting:
3rd Tuesday of every month, 10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
Natural Resources, 1367 Valencia St.

Weekend Meeting
4th Sunday of every month, 3:30-5:00 p.m.
Community Well
78 Ocean Avenue at Alemany

Leaders provide breastfeeding information 7 days a week. Call our helpline: (415) 320-8116.
Lesly, Jennifer, Sarah, Suki or Suzanne will return your call within 24 hours.

Meetings and phone help are free to everyone. LLL of SF offers two levels of membership. A full membership costs $40 per year and includes a copy of The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding or Mothering Your Nursing Toddler or Sweet Sleep, access to our Group Library, digital subscriptions to two LLL magazines, and an invitation to our annual Member Appreciation Tea in October. A supporting membership is $25 and offers all of the benefits of a full membership minus the book.

Memberships may be purchased at LLL meetings and via PayPal at www.lllsf.org.
