      password back. Thank you. It is a dual boot system with windows if
      that helps.

          Sorry - I should have pointed out as well that this does not allow you
          to see your password (to do that you need a password cracker - if you
          want to find and use one of those, you're most likely on your own) but
          passwd does allow you to set a new password for the account.
