From Jessica Yorko:
Good morning Lansing residents! Here's some great safety info I have been sharing with all my neighborhood groups that I want to share with you! Here is the link for the nhood watch start up packet:
http://www.lansingmi.gov/police/neighborhood_watch.jsp And here is where you can do online non-emergency crime reporting:
It's very important for people to report crimes even if they don't need an immediate police reponse (ie car break in, vandalism, etc) because we use data-driven, community policing, we need to know what is happening where and when so we can inform our strategy.
Also, the gang and graffitti hotline is (517)-483-4264 to call and report graffiti.
Public safety is a group effort! Violent crime is way down in the city, but property crimes (theft, vandalism) is up, many offenders are youngsters. Please help us redirect our youth into positive activities and relationships with nurturing adults like Turning Point of Lansing, Bread House Youth Ministry, Allen Neighborhood Center, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Village Summit! Look them up!
