After recent exposures to digital recording devices and free computer
software that create sonograms, ETs old interest in recording bird
songs was rekindled. Until ET read a book by Dr. Donald Kroodsma,
The Singing Life of Birds, he didnt know where he wanted to go with
this interest, but within a mere six pages, the author explained the
fascinating singing cycle and song habits of the Bewicks Wren, and ET
was focused and motivated. . . .

wonder how many songs my wren knows? Does he have neighbors singing
his songs? Wouldnt it be great to hear a young bird learning to
sing? Inspired by Dr. Kroodsmas research, ET applied and
experienced the doctors findings in his own backyard!
Eddie Thomas gave a workshop to Los Angeles Audubon Society on
digiscope photography, now, ET will open a new emphasis in birding by
not only discussing how to record bird song, he will discuss his
project learning the intricacies and consistencies of the Bewicks
