      Hi birders,

Around noon today there was a 1st spring male Summer Tanager at Schabarum
Park in Rowland Heights. The bird was singing nonstop in the eucalyptus in
the pepper tree picnic area next to the tennis courts. Other birds at the
park included a Bell's Vireo, a couple of family groups of Pacific-slope
Flycatcher, and a juvenile Orange-crowned Warbler following an adult. I
also stopped by Whittier Narrows and Peck Rd Park and birds included a
couple of Wilson's Warblers and Warbling Vireos and singles of Townsend's
Warbler, Willow Flycatcher, Swainson's Thrush, Cattle Egret, and Belted
Kingfisher. The Pescadero Trail next to Colima Rd had several Phainopeplas
and a couple of Ash-throated Flycatchers.
