Thanks, I think I found the connector on ebay.  Unfortunately it has to come from China though, so a couple weeks probably before I can finish the upgrade.

Thanks, I think I found the connector on ebay.  Unfortunately it has to come from China though, so a couple weeks probably before I can finish the upgrade.  I just wanted to let anyone else know about these screens if they order them- you will also need a new connector.
      Fred.

If your connector was soldered to the board then you will need a new 20 pin connector and the pins to solder to the new display. You can still use the ribbon cable. Just pull off the old connector, (pry it off with a small screwdriver) and off the cable. When you get a new connector try to match where the old prongs fit into the cable noting that pin one goes to the new pin one on the new display which will be on the opposite end as compared to the old display.
The easiest place to get a 20 pin and pins is Mouser electronics. They have the same display also.\
Let me know if you need any further help.
571-1658527-8 is part # for connector,
571-6-146256-0 is part # for the pins

NewHaven NHD-24064WG-ATMI-VZ# You just have to enlarge the opening on the faceplate on the 2000 about 1/16th" top and side for the display otherwise it is the same thickness. No cutting ribbon cable just reverse to seat to pin 1 and follow Dave's instruction on lcd hookup to the old backlight wire.
