Firstly, a great idea re. the database. With all our members I think
it will be very comprehensive indeed!.
Secondly, I have received some information from the MOD in the UK on
my grandfather's service during the war and would appreciate it if
anyone, who has a better idea of Polish military history, could shed
any further light on the platoons and corps he served in. Tadeusz Pundyk
saw active service from 01/06/1919 to 02/10/1935 with
the Provost Units at Kolomyja, county of Stanislawow. He took part in
the 1939 September campaign in Poland from 01/09/1939 to 18/09/39
with General Fabrycy. After this he made his way to France and
enlisted in the Polish Forces under French command on 02/01/1940 at
Polish Recruitment Camp at Coetquidan. He was then posted to Provost
Platoon at Coetquidan Camp. After the surrender of France he was
evacuated to the UK and posted to 3 Provost Platoon from 01/07/1940.
From then he served in various platoons until he enlisted in the
Polish Resettlement Corps on 12/09/1946 and then was discharged from
duty in 1948.
All the platoons he was posted in in the UK were under the 1st Polish
Corps. Anyone tell me about that?
