Please welcome Cheryl Asuncion to the group.
Cheryl, great to have you on board! Can we hear from any Bajonówka and/or Uganda connections in the group?

My name is Cheryl Asuncion. I live in Michigan, United States of America, with my husband and daughter. I am 29 years old. My sister, Karen Williamson, recently became a member of the Kresy group and has introduced me to the A Forgotten Odyssey website.
As my sister mentioned, our father, Leopold Florek, was born in 1933 in the village of Bajonowka, near Rowno, in Wolyn. He was taken, along with his brother and mother, to the Archangielsk labor camp in Siberia. He later went to Tehran, then Uganda. My grandfather was taken to a different camp in Siberia where he worked in mines until joining Anders Army. After the war, they made their home in England where my uncle currently resides. My father moved to the United States in 1965 and also lives in Michigan.
Together, my sister and I are trying to establish a family tree and timeline of my fathers life. My goal is to preserve the history of our family for my daughter and her future siblings. I would love to connect with others who have similar roots and hear their stories.
