Please find attached programme for the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Atlantic events which will be held in Liverpool on 24-28 May.
The Polish part of the event has been organised by the Defence, Military, Naval and Air Attache of the Republic of Poland in London working together in partnership with the Manchester Consulate, Merseyside Polonia, Manchester SPK and Kresy-Siberia.
I would like to thank Kresy-Siberia members who contributed to the production of the attached leaflet by providing the historical text and personal photographs - particularly big thanks to Anna Pacewicz and Robert Ostrycharz who were both very knowledgeable and a great help to me.
On Saturday 25 May Kresy-Siberia will be laying a wreath at the unveiling of a special plaque which was made in Gdnask and which will be shipped across to Liverpool by ORP Kosciuszko. 200 Polish sailors will be arriving for the commemorations and will be taking part in a big parade with other Navy personnel from all around the world - 25 international ships will be docked in Liverpool over the weekend and some will be open to the public to view. Kresy-Siberia will also be taking part in a presentation at the Martime Museum about the Polish Navy during WW2 and will talk about the Kresy-Siberia Virtual Museum and our plans to produce a special on-line Navy exhibition later on this year.
I hope UK members can attend this very big and exciting event.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
