Good idea - I do this too nowadays. No more clogged up inbox and much easier to follow threads. You just read the subjects you are interested in. And you avoid these kinds of spam problems.
These messages come in and are posted automatically,immediately - the moderators cannot stop them being posted. Some suspicious messages end up in a spam folder but they are very rarely spam.
If we put everyone on "moderated status" it would take ages for all the messages to be approved individually, no one has time to do that.
The person whose account has been hacked needs to change their password etc otherwise messages will keep being sent to everyone in that persons address book.
