The largest fragment fell into the lake near the nuclear facility. A little more - and would be second Chernobyl, and can be the first. Force of explosion was 300 kilotons (NASA evaluation ), if a meteorite pulled closer to Earth - could be a universal catastrophe. We would have died quickly - you later from radiation sickness.
Which is better - I do not know.
This event, in my opinion, once again demonstrated the fragility of life on Earth.
And we have much more in common than we think.

Well, our famous russian people in Chelyabinsk, as say eyewitnesses, rushed hammering their old windows in homes - Putin promised to all those affected to put new windows.

        Stan,

        Exactly!

My point was an attempt at a joke.

But it just goes to show how we can believe in whatever God we choose, we can fit into whatever borders we want and to expel people from their homes with these beliefs....but at the end of the day, we all share the same little ball floating around in the cosmos and our lives can be determined by a small piece of rock.

Will Putin be installing double-glazed units? :)

          Hello Stan from M

A second Chernobyl is not wanted and this was too close, also I have family in Zhitomierz.  You are correct, we have a lot in common and we are fragile and do not control the universe.

Each day of life that is given to us should be treasured and our planet preserved for future generations to live in peace.

There is so much more to be said, but KS is for research and not my  personal dogma about the stupidity of mankind.

          Warmest regards,

          Lenarda, Australia
