Thanks for listing your mother in the Wall of Names. It would be good to also record the names of the other members of her large family, each with their own entry. Meanwhile, there is a bit of a mystery! The Karta Index of the Repressed appears with the name of only one member of your family, your aunt Genowefa (daughter of Konstanty): http://www.indeks.karta.org.pl/en/wyniki.jsp for all the Baziuks and http://www.indeks.karta.org.pl/en/szczegoly.jsp?id=509318 for Genowefa, listed as born in 1924. However, your mother's Wall of Names entry lists her as being older than your mother Anna, whi is listed as born in 1923. So there is something not right. The Karta entry shows Genowefa as deported in June 1941 from Radziule to Aktiunbinsk in Kazachstan - which also conflicts with your mother's entry in the Wall of Names, showing deportation to "Altajski Kraj, Nowosibiriskaya". Finally, it shows Genowefa as "repatriated" to Poland in 1946.This Karta entry is based on two sources:
However, please note that Karta's information is far from complete. If you wished to follow up on Genofewa's entries, we could help you find contact details for these primary sources for more information.RegardsStefan WisniowskiSydney Australia

Subject: [www.Kresy-Siberia.org] deportation dates?

Can anyone help me find the correct dates of deportation of my mother’s family?
I have received three stories from Irena, one written by my mother and two by my uncles who were all in the Polish armed services as cadets (my mother was in the PKS). My mother has always maintained that my Grandfather was taken by the Russians just prior to the rest of the family being deported from Radziule (now part of Belarus) to Siberia in Feb 1940.
However one of my uncles states the date of deportation as June 1941. This upset my mother and left her a bit shaken.
Do you know if there is any way the date of deportation can be checked?
