Hi Julek,How do you manage to save the youtube videos? I tried and couldn't. Does one need a special programme?Basia (UK)Sent: Monday, September 26, 2011 12:43 AMSubject: Re: [Kresy-Siberia] talk for transcription, converting from old cassette to MP3
Just a little additional information on this subject.
I use Itues (which is free) for my collection of audio music because I can arrange and rearrange the music into any category, style, genre, by artist, by your best absolute favorite music or by any way you can think up. You can use the same music and have it play in different categories. The flexibility of Itunes is great
I can play the music one after the other or play them in any random order.
Itunes also comes with thousands of radio stations and you can add Polish or other radio stations from around the world into Itunes for your enjoyment.
For your information if you join Itunes cloud, Itunes will allow you to play a clean new music rather then any old copied music that is on your computer.
You can still keep your old music on your computer in case you drop Itunes or wish to hear all the pops and funny beautiful memorable sounds that were not part of the original recordings.
This way you can have access to all your music available for you to use anywhere in the world on almost any device as long as you have Itunes on that device.
The yearly cost to join Itunes cloud is very small.
This way you will have the best of both worlds anywhere anytime.
What I am now looking for is to be able to do the same with all the youtube videos but I have not found a program that will enable me to view one video after another or play them in random order by categories after I have stored them on my computer.
If you know of a program that can do this please let me know.

Ha,ha so I kept the scratches and pops .... For now at least. I can always scrub the impluse noises out at anytime I want/need to later .My original Audacity recorder program came free with my vinyl album Turntable which has a analog strereo output jacks as well as a USB digital interface.Julek, You seem to know what u are doing, but for a non-savy computer person, even this simple audio application might appear very daunting/challenging. Also, the latest version, Beta 1.3.13 at least, does not come bundled with an MP3 exporter. One has to download and install a separate " Plug-in " and possibly Librarie(s) called " LAME MP3 encoder " .Of course, any Ⓒ ( Copyright ) issues are a totaly seperate topic from wheather a person does or does not digitize an analog cassette tape in their possesion.

You can transfer this yourself by going to the web and downloading for free the program Audacity.
You the connect your cassette player to your computer in the audio in jack normally forund in from front and back of most computers.
You then follow the directions that you also download when you download Audacity and make sure to tell Audacity to convert the audio to MP3 format.
I have been using this program to also transfer LP records to MP3 or years. This program also takes our pops and other noises.
Once in the computer you can share with friend, and relatives in a CD or DVD formats using different programs. You can also add photos or video to have a great looking finished product.
You did not ask but you can also download Music from youtube videos and save them in MP3 files to your computer using the below link to the download that program which is also free.
If you have any question feel free to contact me anytime
