      Hello Beata,

I was not in Tengeru but some of my family were. We arrived on the Empire Ken in July 1948, Went to Dugglingworth then Wheaton Aston to meet up with other members of the family. I am getting my (step) father's album scanned this Wednesday and will then attempt to put it on a site. I say attempt adisedly as I may have to end up e-mailing the whole thing to someone more adept on the computer than I am. Anyway, it should be there soon.

      All the best, Basia (Oxford)

      Hello Basia

My mother's family (Skotny) also arrived from Tengeru on 4 December 1948 sailing in on the Empire Ken. They were headed by my grandfather Michal Skotny, my grandmother Rozalia and their younger children, Marian, Franek, Marysia, Josia, Stasia and Teresa.

My mother Ludka and three of her elder brothers, Kasik, Tadzik and Mietek had joined the forces in Palestine and were already in England by this time.

Don't suppose you recollect any of them?

      Stefan,

Many thanks for your message. I know that my great - aunt burnt most of my great-grandmother' s paintings but I was worried that some might have survived to be sold outside the family. I did think that the 'photos in the Tengeru album loked very familiar so who knows. Perhaps the seller was an intermediary.

I am very frustrated as my mother has many 'photos of camp life from Teheran, Ahvas, Karachi, Kidugala, and Dar-es-Salaam then the Empire Ken ( the boat on which we came to England) then camps in England. I am having trouble getting at them. All the Tengeru stuff will be available for all in the next few weeks.

I have written back to the Canadian prof. and am also in contact with Basia Matuchniak. Thankyou very, very much.

      All the best, Basia

      Basiu

I do not know about any drawings for sale on eBay, but a few years ago
a Tengeru photo album purchase was organised from eBay by Mark
Kusiewicz of Ontario Canada, and the album was scanned into our Gallery
      by Julian Plowy in California.

Could this be what you are thinking of?
