I was there four or five times. Knowing the history of the city it is still
one of the most affecting places I ever was. Walking around in Warszawa you
feel history burning your feet.
The Old Town is wonderfully restored, the business centre ( Marshallkowska,
Jerozolimskie, Nowy Swiat, Krakowskie Przedmiescie etc) are all worth a
visit, as a lot of other historical places do, too. And if you do not like
the Soviet Culture Palace, just go in and take the elevator to the top :
there you have a wonderful view on the city and you do not see the ugly
tower at all.

thank you very much for this interesting link. I haven't seen this
short film about Warsaw before.
I live in Warsaw from my birth. I know it is now not such a beautiful
city as Cracow or Wroclaw. But if any member of our forum will be
planning a trip to Poland, please visit Warsaw. See how their
inhabitants are trying to recover this beautiful city, which Warsaw was
It's difficult process as communist times changed our city in big
extent. However some of the projects were really successful (as Town
Hall building restored vis a vis National Opera).
Please don't forget about tragic history of our city.
See you in Warsaw,
