Read with interest the "Memorial Organization" article
on the web-site you directed me to - thank you for
that and for the information you provided. Very
impressive and commendable - such important work
they're doing! However, you can understand how
disappointed I am that neither "Memorial" nor "Karta"
has been able to provide me with information I seek.
I do understand that records could have been
damaged/destroyed/lost and evidently that is so in my
case. So I guess that particular piece of the puzzle
will always be missing integral parts, effectively
ending my research for documentation of that segment
of my life.
But you're right to keep trying because here and there
a record exists which a good researcher is able to
locate that does fill in some gaps. Were it not for
our own Aneta Hoffman (THANK YOU!), a great researcher
by the way, I'd have no proof of my Father's military
settlement property in Sarny-Dorotycze nor of my and
my family's deportation to Siberia. But thanks to
her, I now have such proof - documents she obtained
from CAW (Centralne Archiwum Wojskowe) and one from
Thanks to all the help I've received from this Group
(you too, Antoni) for which I am very grateful, the
inserts with documentation in my book now almost
outnumber the pages of what I've written!
