Re: [Kresy-Siberia] Re: Polish event in MontrealThanks Andy. Don’t know why the message is not visible. My email came to me with the announcement in the body of the email. I assumed it worked that way for everybody. However, here’s the info about the event. I’m attaching a poster for anyone who can open it.
Dramatic presentation and book launch of Inside a Gestapo Prison: the Letters of Krystyna Wituska published in May 2006 by Wayne State University Press organized by students from Concordia and McGill universities.
University of Toronto student/actress Alexi Marchel will perform Wituska with a script using excerpts from the book. A discussion with editor/translator Irene Tomaszewski will follow.
Where: Concordia University DeSeve Theatre, 1400 deMaisonneuve West, (Concordia metro)
When: Friday, November 10 at 7:30 pm
Alexi is a very gifted actress. The story is breathtaking — sad but with warmth, humor, love and hope. The Wituska story, told through her own letters, puts a human face on Poland’s WWII tragedy.
