If you haven't already then I would highly recommend that you get in
touch with Slav at http://www.lvivecotour.com/ (email addr
Based in Lwow, Slav accompanied me during my time spent in Ukraine in
May 2004, amongst the many places was Brody. If anyone can find the
exact location of your families nearby Osada and locals who remember
those times he can.
Since myself, Slav has also accompanied Linder, Ken Fedzin and Andy
Bender (fellow KS memebrs) during their own personal visits. I really
cant recommend him highly enough, I believe Linder is likely to hire
Slav again in 2006.
Here are comments made by both Ken and Andy following their visits..
I returned safe and sound from our trip to Ukraine. No bandits, no
mafia, no illness, just a great trip. Made all the more successful
with the experience of our driver and translator Slav of
Lvivecotours. A really great and mild mannered guy who shows warmth,
friendship and a genuine interest in the subject.
A number of our group have now used Slav during their trips to
Ukraine, and I personally cannot rate him highly enough. My Polish
cousin Jadwiga (who went with us) spoke only a little English, but
Slav was fluent in both English and Polish. Thanks again from all of
us Slav for making it such a memorable trip.
It was an enjoyable and interesting trip, made all the more so in
Ukraine by our guide, Slav Tsarynnyk
(http://www.lvivecotour.com), who was excellent. Without Slav to
guide us, the trip would have been quite difficult.
Have a great and rewarding time - if you need any further info please
let me know.
