Tim, excellent report. I visualized myself going to the church and walking through the crowds. Wonderful work done by all members. WELL DONE and so good to hear of new blood, so many new people, having interest in their family history, especially now that more and more information is coming into the open.

Yesterday I had the honour of attending a very unique event at the
Polish Church in Manchester.
Its hard to believe but this is the first time that any event has been
held for the Manchester Sybiraks, 19 of the surviving 20 attended.
Along with family, friends and ( I'm happy to report) a large number
from the newer Polish community the Church hall was packed to the
We're very happy to report a large number of young people and very
young children who sat rapt throughout (see picture)
The Consul in Manchester was among our many speakers, KS' very own Eva
Szegidewicz was naturally brilliant - after all, earlier in the day
she had coped with the 2 most inept radio interviewers in the world so
speaking to 200+ people in a huge hall was no trouble at all!
Those who were unable to attend or who were sadly no longer with us
were still a very real presence thanks to a wonderful & moving photo
exhibition by Joanna Dudzic.
We thank Joanna for her non stop work on this over many months and
indeed she was still tweaking it at 1am on the 16th as i was drifting
off to sleep!
Katy Carr once again more than came through for us, travelling all the
way up from London only 24 hours after a memorable performance in
Balham. this time armed with her acoustic Ukelele she captured the
crowd in a way that reminded me of seeing the great singer-songwriter
Neil Finn with just his acoustic guitar.
Partisans lullabye moved at least one of the elderly Sybiraks to tears.
The Displays were a huge hit, you really couldn't ask for a better
response than: "I can't believe my parents travelled all that way"
I have to declare the event a success on every level, book sales were
brisk and on a personal note it was wonderful to see Bogdan
Trybuchowski (of Nowogrodek) again and have the pleasure of not only
meeting his lovely wife but introducing them both to my parents.
I must close now as I have to start packing for our London Bash!
