The name and code for NE Kiwanis is “Kiwanis Foundation of New England: ID #49001019000.” If you have the code number to add to your rewards information, it is much easier & faster than searching by name.JULY 10, 2009TORRENTIAL RAINS FORCED THE KIWANIS CLUB OF SHEFFIELD TO RESCHEDULE THEIR ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT TO JULY 10TH EVERYTHING ELSE IS THE SAME: The Kiwanis Club of Sheffield (MA) will hold their Annual Golf of Egremont Country Club in Gt. Barrington. The tournament begins with registration on the clubhouse porch beginning at 10:30 with a shotgun start at noon. Many trophies will be awarded for a large variety of feats on the greens; hamburgers, hot dogs, soft drinks, water & beer available at two locations while playing; a cash bar and delicious hors d’oeuvres table in the clubhouse beginning at 5:00 followed by a buffet dinner at 6:00. Choristers rehearse Monday through Thursday and present a public performance on Saturday at the Berkshire School on Undermountain Road in Sheffield. The Kiwanis Club of Sheffield (MA) operates a complete cash bar each rehearsal evening and the Princess Kiwi, the Kiwanis concession trailer is available for pre-concert and intermission food and beverages on Saturday night. The cost is $15.00 per person. It will be BYOB, bring utensils (steak knives, forks, spoons), plates and table clothes. There will be great raffle prizes, good food and a day of fun. Proceeds go the Lee Youth Association and many other club sponsorships.JULY 20, 2009The Kiwanis Club of St Johnsbury (VT) will hold a Bocce Tournament with the Kiwanis Clubs of Hardwick & Montpelier. It will be held at the St Johnsbury Pool Facility (pool, tennis courts & bocce court).The Kiwanis Club of Mansfield (MA) is holding it’s Second Annual “One Club” Tournament of Monday, July 20TH at the Squirrel Run Golf Course in Plymouth. This is a par 3 course, the only club allowed on the course is a 5 iron, and you must use the putters assigned to each green. If you play well, you will be challenged. If you don’t play well at all, doesn’t matter. The winning score last year was 3 under. Everyone has a chance. For more information go to <http://www.golfkiwanis.com>. You can sign up on-line or contact the club.JULY 25, 2009The Kiwanis Club of Keene (NH) will be holding their next highway cleanup on Saturday, July 25TH.AUGUST 3 - 7, 2009The Kiwanis Club of West Hartford (CT) is hosting their 4th Annual “Lose the Training Wheels” bicycle camp in West Hartford, CT. The camp is for children with special needs, ages 8-18 that want to learn to ride a bicycle without training wheels. The camp has been the only one of its kind in New England.Children from divisions around New England have benefited in so many ways, not only by learning to ride but by putting them on an equal level with other kids and increasing their self esteem. This Tournament is being held by the Kiwanis Foundation of New England to support the operation of the Kiwanis Pediatric trauma Institute at the Floating Hospital, Boston, MA. The menu is steamed lobster, corn-on-the-cob, cole slaw, potato chips, beverages and more. The price is $15.00 and includes one raffle ticket worth $2.00. Additional raffle tickets are available at 5 for $10.00. Prizes are $300, $200, $100 and additional local merchant donations. The dinner will be served at The Little Meeting House, Route 202, Windham. The always popular Sheffield Kiwanis Steakroast and Silent Auction will begin at 2PM with a complete steak dinner served beginning at 5:30. A large strip steak with baked potato, corn on the cob, baked beans hot rolls, salad and a variety of desserts plus beer and wine will be served until the last diner is stuffed. Activities will include a baseball clinic by ex-Red Sox pitcher Ken Ryan, a golf clinic by pro-golfer Jeff Dantes and a soccer clinic by Stacey DeCastro. Sports memorabilia will be available in a silent auction by George Bowers Enterprises. Also there will be a live auction featuring tickets to the Patriots Luxury Box for two and many tickets to other sporting events. Food will be available at a nominal cost. Tickets for a 50/50 raffle are being sold for $5.00 each. There will be two winners of the split pot.
