Don't forget to register! Some can commute for a day. Saturday is a great day to attend training and meet your new District Officers. The Convention is a great way to meet fellow Kiwanians and share ideas as well as learn what's new in Kiwanis. In workshops you can always find a new friend to Share your Kiwanis Story and maybe you'll find a new way to spiff up your meetings so attendance improves. We sincerely hope you will make an effort to attend this conference. We are celebrating 25 Years of Women in Kiwanis.Division 19 has been researching the sights in the Twin Cities of Fitchburg and Leominster, MA and all the Surrounding Towns. There are many points of interest to visit while you are at our convention as well as informative workshops for all.Stop by the Welcome Table to learn what sights Johnny Appleseed Country has to offer. My goal is not to bombard you with emails but last April I was told that there were no Kiwanis Clubs in the surrounding towns of Leominster. Worcester and Winchendon are the closest but we decided to make the hosting a Division effort with our volunteering to be your host club.As I drove around the community especially Fitchburg there is a definite need for outreach in the community. I met with the Head Start Director, Deb Hubbard, who oversees this readiness program, serving over 800 preschool students in the surrounding towns of Leominster, Fitchburg, Clinton, Gardner, Winchendon, and Athol. The joy on a preschool child's face when they receive their very own book that they can keep. Every year at Convention new reading readiness programs are offered. Please bring a book to give to a child. The area is beautiful but there is poverty and many children in need.At International Convention our First Lady showed her Teddy Bear, NOLA, who has been a constant companion with our International President to all VISITS AROUND THE WORLD.The Leominster Fire Department will welcome all the Teddy Bears for Trauma that we can collect for Children in Crisis.Share with your club members and friends. Make Our Kiwanis Outreach to the Children Successful. On Behalf of the Children, we thank you for your Generous Contributions. You may bring them to the Welcome Table next to Registration. All items will be labelled: A gift from New England Kiwanis.Any questions? Contact Diane Urwiller 508-864-7788 or <durwiller@...>.Hope to see you all soon! Can't make Convention but want to donate, we will arrange or Donate in your Community.
