      MAY 7, 2010

Please send all announcements to <events@...> by Thursday. All new announcements will be shown in blue each week, the announcements in green are for the District or Int’l. Events, the announcements in orange are for the Key Club, brown is for Circle K and the announcements in maroon are for the Aktion Clubs.

      Hello New England,

This is a follow-up to information that was previously sent to provide additional information to those still considering if they should attend a Club Excellence Summit in your area.

The Club Excellence Summits will be held on the following dates at the indicated locations. Please follow up by contacting the lead person at the Summit if you would like to attend to assure we have an accurate count. Walk-ins are welcomed, but we do need to be close in numbers as some people are arranging food for their event.

Questions:  Contact Vesta Browne at <vbkiwanis@...>

Many of you have expressed concern that you want to assure that your club is growing and reaching its potential, however, it seems roadblocks are in the way. These roadblocks come in many different forms: How do we attract new members? How can we get the word out about what our club is doing? How do we get younger members involved...You know what I am talking about? This Summit is designed to help you and members of your club address some of these concerns.

This is NOT a CLE training and it is not just for officers. This is for ANY club member interested in committing to excellence for your club in such a way that growth can occur. It is about learning how to address some of the roadblocks you have faced and it means having the resources and “advisors” available to assist you with your plan.

I have had long conversations with Lanton Lee from Kiwanis International and I really believe he “gets” it. As he expressed to me, “I have never really had the concerns facing New England explained to me in that way, I can understand now the feeling of frustration.” You know me, I can talk!

So, that being said, I ask that your club consider attending this Summit and give it a try. We have listened to what you have been saying and we hope that this will give you the resources to address some of your concerns. We may not tackle all of them at one sitting, but we do anticipate you will feel as though you have something to get you started by the end of the evening. We really think it will be a good use of your time.

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at this event. Let’s bring our clubs from “Good to Great.”
