Do you raise sheep, goats, chicken, llamas, cows, emus, horses or ducks?
Do you sell products at local Farmer Markets, CSAs, stores, co-ops, on-line or from your own farm?
Do you buy from and support our thriving local farming community?
Are you interested in starting your own farm; perhaps just want to know more about the availability of locally produced foods and how to support local agriculture?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, you belong on this list!
This group is for anyone located in/near Kitsap Co., currently involved or interested in any type of agricultural enterprise.
Some Kitsap Co. officials believe agriculture in Kitsap is unimportant at best, non-existent at worst. When faced with our existence, continuous growth, and opposition, they enact rules & legislation designed to inhibit a thriving agricultural community in Kitsap Co.
Part virtual meeting room, part networking tool, here small agricultural enterprises & consumers can come together to exchange ideas, resources, opinions and products; share news and events related directly and indirectly to agriculture in Kitsap Co. and surrounding areas; learn about opportunities for growth, education, employment, etc; support, advise and cheer each other as we accomplish our individual goals. Sometimes, stop on by just to chat and share one of those, “No kidding, there I was, standing in the middle of the upper field, when…..” stories!
Let’s support each other on this List, helping our community to grow, thrive and become even stronger. United, we can better deal with and counter the encroachment onto our lands, AG-adverse or -damaging legislation and increase our visible presence and contributions in the general community.
