      does anyone know exactly where to put in at high falls?  it was mentioned in an article in the may/june issue of ulster magazine as being the favorite paddling spot of adventure filmmaker jon bowermaster.  (maybe he's on this group?)

        what are the paddling conditions from there...flat water, mild white water (comparable to Wappingers Creek) or a higher level? ________________________________

          Just below the Rt. 213 Bridge is a waterfall; so you can t go downstream from here. Upstream from the Rt 213 Bridge the Rondout Creek is flat moving water for

            Just below the Rt. 213 Bridge is a waterfall; so you can't go downstream from here.

            Upstream from the Rt 213 Bridge the Rondout Creek is flat moving water for about 3 miles up to and past Stone Dock Golf Course.

            If the water level is high you can go further. Otherwise there might be sections that are too shallow to paddle upstream.

            The Rondout can be run downstream from Kerhonkson to the Rt. 213 Bridge. About 15 miles. Some almost rapids. At least 2 possible put ins.

            There are several good white water rapids below the waterfall.
