Fw: Great Hudson River Paddle 2011 Web Site...Lots of fun events in July
I'll put the "Pirates of Esopus Kayak Scavenger Hunt" on this site, but I'd like to get ideas from a few folks beforehand. Diane

The 2011 Great Hudson River Paddle website is now live and accepting events, special offers and sponsorships. This year’s Paddle will be held throughout the month of July. Please visit www.greatHRpaddle.org for more information.
Following ten highly successful years the Hudson River Valley Greenway is changing the format of the Great Hudson River Paddle from a single end-to-end trip to a series of many types of partner run paddles. The new Great Hudson River Paddle will be modeled on the celebrated Hudson River Valley Ramble and will include short overnight paddles, day paddles, free paddles, paddle races, and any other events our partners dream up.
The site layout is designed to encourage paddlers, event organizers, retailers and other sponsors easy access to the section of the website that most interests them.
If our primary interest is in hosting an event go the Paddle Events page and click on Submit Your Event. This will bring you to the instruction page for a multi-page form that will capture all of the information about your event and get it ready for placement on the Event Map. It is important to note that if you do not see a "THANK YOU" page, your submission was not received.
If you wish to provide a special offer, discount, or other incentive to GHRP participants visit our Special Offers page and click on Submit Your Offer. It is important to note that if you do not see a "THANK YOU" page, your submission was not received. You may also mention your discount on your Paddle Event description too.
If you are curious about Sponsorship (and we hope you are!) visit Sponsors and explore the How to be a Sponsor page.
If you wish to find an event to participate in go to Paddle Events for a listing of all events or click on the Events Map. From either location the checkboxes at the right let you select the type of event you are interested in.
The goals of the change are to get more people out on the Hudson in a safe and fun environment and to bolster local economic development through increased ecotourism. The Great Hudson River Paddle is an annual series of events that celebrate, promote, and document the recreational use of the Hudson River in the early twenty-first century.
