Group Description

Dedicated to the restoration of a customized 1953 Cadillac body on a early '49 Crosley drivetrain. Originally built in the Chicago area by "Uncle Chuck", friend of the Bob Schweizer family of New Berlin, Wi., who would later own the Car. Bobs' sons Bob Jr and Rusty raced around their local subdivision as kids. Later sold to friend Bob Doyle of Pewaukee Wi, and then bought by my Father, Pat Gaffney Also of Pewaukee. Pat, Bob and Bob all knew each other thru Sun Electric Corp, and KnR Suburban Dodge of Waukesha, WI. We (Gaffney) owned the car in the late 60's? thru early 70's. The Car was then sold to yet another Bob, Bob Goff of Goffs Auto Body in Pewaukee, Wi. Bob Goff owned a full size 1956 Caddy, and wanted the "Little Caddy" for his Kids in local parades. Soon the car fell to mechanical disrepair and was relegated to the Goff back yard where it sat Idle untill October 2003 when the Gaffney Family (Bart) bought it back and have begun the restoration process of this beloved little car.

Pictured at left is Mark Gaffney at the wheel, with Fr Flannagan riding shootgun, and Youngest brother Michael Gaffney, as brother JP(John Gaffney in Captains hat) looks on.
Possibly the only early photo the Gaffneys have of the car dating back to the early-to-mid '70's.

Here is the car today as well as a concept for body modifications to make it look more like its full size 1953 Cadillac counterparts.
July 1954 Issue of Popular Mechanics Magazine about Frank Manns' Little "1950-51 Buick LeSabre Dream Car" ..Could this have been the inspiration for our little Crosley powered Cadillac?.
