Having the problem of slow start up became annoying,so i decided to take a look at the tx /rx brd. Capacitors C182, and C229 had leaked and were non working. I replaced these 2 capacitors carefully cleaned the area around the solder connections carefully, and replaced them with 2 conventional capacitors, and presto, the slow start up was repaired , and the intermittant drift on the 40 mtr band locked in on freq straight away, and was with in 10 hz on the IFR. The cap values are C182 10UF 16V,C229 IS 47UF 16 VOLT, BOTH ON THE TX/RX BRD, CHEERS, Brian.
