Maximum input power/voltage

According to the manual the Kenwood TS 50 wants to have 13.8 +/-15% input voltage. If I have a battery that outputs 16 8 V at maximum will that damage the

Blacklight mod. Is changing out the 47uf chip cap on the display board,my caps were just barely on.You can look up the mod. On yahoo or goggle.After you change

Thank you James, yes I did a search about the mod.and opened the case and saw that the C1 had leaked,cleaned the board then I replaced it with 47uf 24v regular
