Mark, If the mic socket looks like its been re-soldered then the previous owner must have known that there was an issue programming it and as a last resort

Try slowing down the port speed and it should work I use windows co and don't have problems Sent from my iPhone

Just as a side note on the 6110, we have programmed many of these with no issues (ever), but using a Windows 98 program and a cheap non Kenwood cable. I think

Do not pay attention to the values, adjust for best sensitivity, each radio will be different. Also, if you don't have a service monitor to do the tuning then

The 6110 is a little more finicky when it comes to reading/writing to it. Ensure you have the radio off, then plug in the program cable, then power the radio
