Subject: Pennsic 41 Performing Arts Tent - Volunteer Call Out

Greetings to all Pennsic 41 Performers!
Welcome to the Performing Arts Tent, Pennsic 41!
We are excited to have so many new and familiar faces - looking forward to the variety of shows and showcasing of so much talent.
Along with set up and strike, the PA Tent is looking for some extra volunteers to help keep the place running as smoothly as possible throughout Pennsic.
I’m trying out a few new things this year and there are now five different types and ways to volunteer:
tent openers, afternoon water check, light board operators, evening runners, and tent closers.
Any and all extra help appreciated!
Please read below for volunteer position descriptions, and if interested - sign up online for shifts at our Google docs page:  https://docs.google.com/document/d/1a5qPL6hml_c8cLNBkhrqYzdZIRn-WZoK7UMTsw4oVic/edit
I wanted to start looking for help 'in house' and give you all, and those perforning with you, first dibs!
Many thanks in advance- Looking forward to seeing everyone at Pennsic!
Lorelei Skye - Assistant to the Dean, Pennsic 41
      ------------------------
Five types of volunteers this year:
      PA Tent Open (10 - 30 min):
Raise the tent walls (may involve step stool use), fill the water jugs, walk through and check for missed trash and lost and found items, take lost and found items to security.
      Afternoon Water & Tent Check (10 - 30 min):
Be sure the water is full for afternoon classes and acts, check that all is well with the PA Tent. Check the weather, write up any known severe weather alerts for evening folks. Contact the On Call PA Assistant or Dean as needed.
Evening Operations / Light Board Operator (1.5 - 5 hours; split shifts available):
Sit with the light board, turn stage lights on/house lights off as needed throughout the performing evening. Help announce acts as needed. Raise / lower walls as needed in case of severe weather. Help quietly scoot smokers downwind of the PA Tent (smoking is not allowed inside the PA Tent, or within 1-3 feet of the outside boundaries. Contact the on call PA Assistant or Dean in case of emergency if one or the other is not already present. Experienced volunteers preferred, if possible - email Lorelei: loreleiskye25@... for more information if needed.

Evening Operations / Evening Runner (1.5 - 5 hours; split shifts available):
Sit with the light board operator, watch light board if operator needs to step away. Help communication as needed between front of house and the performance acts.
-See Light Board Operator list for other potential tasks.
      Night Tent closer (10-30 min):
Stop by end of night and help folks drop walls, straighten chairs, pick up trash, and gather lost and found items.
See you at the war! ~ Lorelei
