      Hardware Design Engineer ��� Embedded Systems

      This hardware engineering position is focused on system and board-level design of embedded control systems. This is a project leadership position, which includes project definition, architecture, board level & FPGA design, documentation, contractor and vendor management, hardware-software integration, and system verification.

      Must work well independently, as well as be a good team member. Must actively coordinate technical project tasks with other hardware engineers, software, mechanical, system test, and operations. Must have good communication skills, both verbally and in clear technical documentation. Must be willing to support system test in the field (literally, outdoors).

      Requires experience completing successful commercial projects. Must be familiar with project development process, deliverables, Release process, ECOs, and Doc Control procedures. Must understand DFM, DFT, DFx constraints. Must be willing to work with a multiple tasks at the same time. Must aggressively work to meet schedules and coordinate project activities.


      Requirements:
      BS EE with 8 years experience developing commercial products
      MS EE with 6 years experience developing commercial products

      Skills:
      Expert using Orcad for libraries, schematic capture, BOMs, netlists
      Experience in FPGA design, vendor tools, simulations, Fmax, fitting
      Familiar with doc control, BOM imports, part number management, ECOs, and release process.
      Excellent embedded system debugging skills, HW-SW integration, resolving problems, using test equipment
      Experience with pcb characteristics: parts placement, trace impedance, grounding issues, noise issues,

      Extra Points:
      The ideal candidate will have experience with elecro-mechanical I/O, such as: industrial control, agriculture equipment, automotive systems, robotics, hydraulics, and stepper motors. The ideal candidate won���t mind getting his hands dirty, working outdoors with (farm) machinery, driving tractors, being around big iron.
