CHSFS Adopted Adult Service Tour, October 9-17, 2008
- From: Petrillo, Anna <APetrillo@...>
To Whom It May Concern,
I am a Korean adoptee from Washington, DC that is organizing a special
tour group to Korea for this fall. I was wondering if you would be able
to announce this opportunity to your members?
CHSFS introduces a new 2008 fall trip to Korea for adult adoptees to
learn more about contemporary social issues as well as the rich history
and of Korea while contributing time to vulnerable populations through
volunteer work. This Adopted Adult Korea Service Tour is open to all
adopted persons age 18 and over regardless of birthcountry and their
parents. This travel experience will provide a once-in-a-lifetime
opportunity for you to learn more about the people, the history, the
everyday lives and the social needs of Korea. Unlike longer birthland
tours, this tour has been designed for the working professional-it is
cost-friendlier and has been scheduled for nine days instead of other
tours that are usually 14-15 days in length. It has also been scheduled
for the fall which is one of the most beautiful times to visit Korea.
On this trip, you will be able to:
o Stay overnight in a Buddhist temple
o Share time with Korean peers
o Have a hands-on experience at a Korean organic farm
o Visit a center for Comfort Women survivors and interact
o Volunteer at a special-needs orphanage
o Care for babies in a care center for children awaiting
o Learn more about the adopted person community in Korea
o Meet with unmarried birthmothers
o ........and more.
The total cost for this Adopted Adult Korea Service Tour is $2500.
Please note that this is an all-inclusive package-- airfare, hotel,
meals, etc. are included! Registration is due by Sept. 15 or until space
is full, which ever comes first.
