What a great place to work and in IT too. (How to project envy over the net..hmmmm).
As to Padster's suggestion of a con..... nice idea if you want to organise it!!! Must be 19 years since I've been to a con and that one was in hotel on Glasgow station, all night SF movies, dodgy burgers, beer and being approached by some rather rough ladies of the night! The very gruff scottish voice saying "My mates hungry, can anyone buy her a roll" before they were chased off by hotel security will remain with me forever. Funny what sticks in ones memory.
Another passage that brings tears to the eyes, because you know what is coming, is where Denis and Lucille are getting ready for the Christmas reveillon at the old farm. Their tenderness and their acceptance of giving up responcabilities (Lucille) and accepting certain others (Denis). Though I must admit I always thought Denis was rather hesitant about the Unity ideal, especially in the earlier books. Am I wrong? Did I miss someting?
