Sri JitAmitraru, [believed by the tradition as] having Rudramsha, incarnated in a village Shivapura in ShAhpUr tAlUk in Gulbarga district. Gods choose a place that is conducive to the activities of their incarnation. After they incarnate in their chosen place, such devamsha jIvas uplift the dharmic ways in that place and likewise choose a place for their final days of incarnation. When we perceive the life history of some great yatis of Madhva Sampradaya, it is well known that Shri Padmanabhatirtha, Shri Vyasaraya, Shri SudhIndratirtha et al chose Navabrindavana and Shri Raghavendratirtha chose Mantralaya. as the place to end their incarnation. It is very apt for those j~nAnis to choose those places as they knew that the places carried special grandeur thru many aeons. One can notice that the Supreme Lord, who is always compassionate to His devotees, fulfilled their desires. The resulting end of those j~nAnis, who approve the strength of inference from an end result, will naturally be very exquisite. In order to understand the glory of the gods who incarnated, it is of high importance to know about the glory of the place where the commenced their incarnation and that where they concluded the same. With the above back drop, it is gratifying to know about the history of Shivapura, where [as per the tradition] Shri Jitamitraru incarnated and its surrounding places. Tradition has that Shri Jitamitraru incarnated in Shivapura and later on vanished in the Krishna river near the confluence of the Krishna river and Bima river, by reappearing as Gonada tree in a small isle of Krishna River.
