Wow, what a great day! The weather was near perfection as were the
demonstrations. Kudos to the group demonstration members who performed in
the 18 form and sword form. For most of the participants, this were their
first time demonstrating tai chi in public away from the familiarity of the
Jing Ying studio, but everyone looked like experienced professionals!

The Mayor sent a representative from her office to present an official
proclamation recognizing the event, and people came from all over to
      participate.

Many thanks to the presenters of the mini-workshops who helped make this
      event such a success:
Carol McGonegal and Elizabeth Reed for the Professor Cheng Man-Ch'ing Yang
      Short form
Amy Halsted for "Good Old Fashioned Yoga"
Abdulmuhsiy Abdurrahman for Tai Chi push hands
Kimberly Kelly-Rigsbee for Unconditional Love Qigong
Sean Marshall for Silk Reeling Exercises

If you missed out on the chance to see or participate in the demonstrations
this past Saturday, don't forget the Asian Philosophy Class demo at Anne
Arundel Community College this Wednesday (May 3) at 7:00 pm. Jing Ying
Institute will provide demonstrations of Lion Dance, tai chi forms and
weapons and kung fu forms and weapons. All students are strongly encouraged
to perform as this is a low-key and friendly environment in which to try out
a demo in public. Even if you don't perform, wear your uniform and come help
cheer. After the demo, students are invited back to the classroom where the
Asian Philosophy class will perform a brief skit of an imaginary
conversation between LaoZi and Confucius and then they will feed us!

      Thanks,
