      RECEIVED(and am passing along):

      Invitation to annual Yizkor gathering on Sunday Oct 27, 2013 at 12 noon at Fifth Avenue Synagogue,
       5 East 62nd St (between Fifth and Madison), Manhattan, New York. Nechamia Oberstein will chair.

      Joseph Griliches, Esq, will preside over the candle lighting ceremony, in which a candle is lit for any Litvak who had died in recent years.

      Cantor Joseph Malovany of Fifth Ave Synagogue and Distinguished Professor of Liturgical Music at Yeshiva University will conduct the religious service.

      Speakers will be Professor Herbert Druks, of the Judaic Studies Department at Brooklyn College, and author of several scholarly books, who will speak about "Jewish Children of the Holocaust". Critically acclaimed author Sonia Taitz, Esq, (her recent memoir is "The Watchmaker's Daughter") will also speak about her experiences as a child of Litvak Holocaust survivors.

      Following the memorial, a dairy/fish luncheon is served.

      Entrance is by voluntary contribution. The organization contributes money to elderly Jews in Lithuania and donations to Assistance to Lithuanian Jews, Inc are tax-deductible.

      All are welcome,

      Should have said the Yizkor is for all the Jews of Lithuania who died in the Holocaust, and then the candle-lighting is lighting of individual candles for Jews

        Should have said the Yizkor is for all the Jews of Lithuania who died in the Holocaust, and then the candle-lighting is lighting of individual candles for Jews from Lithuania who have died who have not yet had a candle lit for them. A family member(s) is (are) called up to light the candle and Mr. Griliches says a few words about the person that the family has given him.
