I have a relative by marriage named Irving Sloan who changed his name
from Slomovitz. He is the author of a history of the Jews in the US that
was published about 30 years ago.

The Jews in America, 1621-1970; a chronology & fact book. Compiled and
edited by Irving J. Sloan. Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., Oceana Publications, 1971.
      Reference E184.J5 S57

I really have little information on Irving except that he married Esther
Gendelman who is my blood relative.

I'm looking for any data regarding my grandfather Eiszig Sholomovich
      (Sholemovitz or
Slomavitz) born in Keidan, Lithuania January 15, 1902. Moved to
Chicago, Illinois in September 1912. Left on the SS Prinz Adalbert from
Hamburg, Germany and arrived in Philadelphia September 4, 1912. Changed
his name to Isadore Sloan when he arrived in America. Brother moved to
South Africa and another brother moved to Chicago.

      Thank you

      Howard Berger
