CFI's "The Jesus Project" asks, 'What if ...?'

JesusMysteries is a forum for historical discussion. Was Jesus an historical person, a mythical figure, a fictional character, a theological construction, or some combination of these? How does this help our understanding of Christian origins through 451 CE? *See Peter Kirby on Historical Jesus Theories.

Authors we have discussed include G.A. Wells, Earl
Doherty, John D. Crossan, Robert M. Price, Gerd Ludemann, Elaine Pagels,
Stevan Davies, Paula Fredriksen, Ken Humphreys, Darrell Doughty, Peter Gandy, Timothy Freke, Burton Mack, Bart Ehrman, John P. Meier, Robert Eisenman, Joe Atwill, Alvar EllegÄrd, Rene Salm, Alan Segal, Randel Helms, Hyam Maccoby, James D. Tabor, Geza Vermes, Jay Raskin, Dan Unterbrink, Roger Parvus, Hermann Detering and other German and Dutch Radical critics.

This is not solely an academic list, but neither is it a chat room.
While welcoming everyone, we require professional levels of courtesy and
objectivity from active participants. We do not allow religious
apologetics, religious or anti-religious preaching, or the discussion of subjective personal experience. We are interested in testing historical
theories by discussing historical evidence.

This forum supports dialogue over debate and is not intended to be a vehicle for scoring points. We favor the methods generally
referred to as "historical criticism."

Note: this forum, as managed, does not propose an historical or mythical Jesus or positions between those. Exploration of the widely varied theories is encouraged in your search for truth.

If you do not agree with our PROTOCOL do not post.
