      I have researched this through google and only found
      some answers on the Dreamweaver site.
      I have already notified the server admin, but they
      haven't responded yet (4 days).

      I recently updated my index web page and edited a
      _javascript file. The next day, the page was not
      updated when I accessed the site as a user.
      Is it possible to cause a server error with
      _javescript files?
      thanks

        Unrelated issue. (And you're not looking in the right places for info,
        either. See below.)

        Did you try clearing your browser cache?

        You might also want to check your server software's configuration
        settings to see what headers it's sending out with your site files. The
        best place to get information relevant to your server software would be
        the software documentation or a mailing list or forum specialising in
        that server software.

        You can also control this to some extent by using the right
        Content-Expires and Pragma no-cache meta tags in your HTML files.

        In any case, this issue is outside the scope of this list.

        Since I do not use a Microsoft operating
        system or software, and use only plaintext
        for email, there is little need for me to do so.

            I need to calculate time diff in hour, minute and second.

            Let's say I have a long AJAX task, than I want to know how long it took
            to put the result on my content, something like:

            function myAjaxFunction(){
            var start = new Date();
            var xmlhttp = createXmlHttpReq(function() {
            if(xmlhttp.readyState == 4) {
            if(xmlhttp.status == 200) {
            var timeDuration = new Date() - start;
            document.getElementById('MY_CONTENT').innerHTML =
            xmlhttp.responseText+' <br>Duration: '+timeDuration;
            } else {
            var error = "<font color='red'>"+xmlhttp.status+" -
            "+xmlhttp.statusText+"</font>";
            }
            }
            });
            xmlHttpPOST(xmlhttp, 'get_something_very_long.php', BLA=123'+);
            }

            Thanks
            F.

              Number.prototype.padl = function(c) {
              if (this < 1) return c+c;
              if (this < 10) return c+String(this);
              return String(this);
              }

              var elapsed = function(start,end) {
              var h,m,s,elaps = end - start; // assumes end > start
              elaps = Math.round(elaps/1000);
              s = elaps % 60;
              elaps = Math.round((elaps-s)/60);
              m = elaps;
              elaps = Math.round((elaps-m)/60);
              h = elaps;
              return h.padl('0') + ':' + m.padl('0') + ':' + s;
              }
