Group Description

Revered around the world as an embodiment of unconditional motherly love, Amma Karunamayi has dedicated her life to the cause of world peace and spiritual upliftment. This email group is dedicated to discussion of Amma's teachings, activities, programs and events, as well as other spiritual topics of interest. As part of her spiritual mission, Amma teaches numerous practices designed to help people in every aspect of life. These techniques, which include meditation, mantra chanting, sacred worship, chakra cleansing, and more, are derived from the ancient wisdom tradition of India's Vedic sages. This tradition is known as "Sanatana Dharma," or the Eternal Truth.

The techniques taught by Amma are powerful, yet gentle and safe, and are designed to be integrated into one's worldly or family life. While the practices have many benefits, like good health, inner peace, and more loving relationships, their ultimate purpose is to lead us to the state of enlightenment, or "moksha." As we practice these techniques, we engage in a process of inner purification. This spiritual cleansing allows the Divinity already present within us to shine forth brilliantly. Once we are rendered free from all impurity, we transcend all egoistic limitations and are graced to merge in the bliss of Atman, the supreme Self.

List members are welcome to discuss Amma's teachings, ask questions, share experiences, and help one another learn and grow on the spiritual path. The group is moderated to protect against spam and also to ensure that all posts are in harmony with Amma's teachings on honesty, respect, and kind speech.
