      Job Description:
      We are currently looking for an experienced and results oriented Supplier Quality Engineer with well-developed problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills. You will be responsible for overseeing the quality performance of  existing domestic supply base in order to ensure its suppliers produce and provide defect free products. This includes taking a key role in new supplier qualification and existing supplier quality audits and process improvements. The Quality Engineer will report to the Director of Supply.

      Primary Responsibilities include:

      • Work with suppliers to improve part and product quality performance within  established product standards and specifications.
      • Recommend quality process controls, improvements and implement plans to ensure complete compliance by its suppliers, warehouses and assembly teams.
      • Define, drive and assist in implementing any necessary quality improvement plans with suppliers, warehouses and assembly teams.
      • Identify and resolve supplier, warehouse and assembly related quality problems with permanent and sustainable solutions.
      • Create and implement quality audit checklists, documentation and maintain necessary records by supplier and part.
      • Participate and or lead in key supplier corrective action and process improvements plans and meetings.
      • Travel to and meet regularly with key suppliers, customers and warehouse personnel on related quality and process improvement plans. .
      • Cooperatively work with key supplier and warehouse management to ensure quality plans and process improvements have been implemented and are sustained through frequent data collection and regular audits.


      Education:

      • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four year college or university in Engineering, and related field.

      Minimum requirements:

      • 5 years minimum hands on experience in related field as a quality engineer or equivalent quality position.
      • Working knowledge and experience in manufacturing quality systems, process documentation and quality processes.
      • Relevant experience in plastics molding processes including Injection, Thermoforming, Rotocast, and Blow Molding.
      • Experience with materials testing, measurement tools, and inspection equipment.
      • Ability to organize and prioritize workload and work independently.
      • Problem solving and results oriented
      • Ability to work well with others and effectively manage processes and projects to completion.
      • Team player with ability to interact and participate effectively with both internal and external team members, suppliers and customers.
      • Excellent computer skills and understanding of manufacturing software, word processing, and spreadsheet utilization.
      • Math and blue print reading skills required.
      • Bilingual (Spanish) skills helpful.
