Group Description

This mail list and associated archives was established to support discussions among a group of members interested in the J Haplogroup of mitochondrial DNA and its various subclades. It is open to members of the various J mtDNA Project at Family Tree DNA and to others at the discretion of the list owner.

Legitimate topics of discussion include interpretation of test results, the academic literature relative to the J Haplogroup and its usbclades and origins, the history and anthropology of our J1 ancestors, and pedigrees associated with any mtDNA matches found.

Banned topics and expressions include current politics and religion, racism, commercialization, vulgarities, etc. Constructive criticism is also appropriate but there should be no personal attacks or undue criticism of commercial or private organizations. If you have a personal problem with another person or organization, please take it up directly with them or with the list owner -- not the entire list.

The list owner can be contacted at JJLNV@comcast.net
