      There's really no hard and fast rule other than don't use to little. I've
      had as much as 9-10 yards in just a skirt, but I've used less than that as
      well. I think of it more in terms of panels of fabric.I usually do side back
      lacing, and I don't like having a seam down the center front of my skirt so
      I usually use three full panels of fabric in the front and sides, and 1
      panel in the back. I measure from the highest point in the waist to a couple
      of inches past where you want the hem to fall. I run two threads with
      upholstery weight thread and take pleats every inch, usually with a strip of
      blanket weight wool or even strong twill tape to give the pleats more body.

      Greetings onto the list! I am stumped with trying to figure out how much
      yardage or inches to pleat to a bodice! Overwhelmed and lost too! Enough
      so that I went from thinking that I could be in Bella's Challenge to
      overthinking myself out of it!

      Help! How do one figure this out??!?!
