Blaming refs is for whiners, not winners
By "New York" team, I mean the one in Manhattan, not the Rangers' wan
suburban cousins. The Islanders won four consecutive Stanley Cups and
assembled one of the greatest teams in league history in the early
'80s, but that might as well have occurred 200 years ago in Belize for
all the impact it has in midtown. The Devils, a mere eight miles and
one E-Z Pass toll removed from Madison Square Garden, have won three
Cups in nine years, but they could have won nine in a row and rescued
all the inhabitants of a nursing home from a gas leak and still lose
the Daily News' back page to a Rangers press conference announcing a
new fifth jersey for 2005.>>>
Did Mike Milbury curse this person out or something? This is like the
second rip-job on the Isles impage in less than a month and she only
writes once a week !!! How about how well they are playing?
When the Islanders were champions and the hockey media was still alive
in New York Ciry they got plenty of respect and recognition and made
fans all across the city and suburbs.
All the impact the Islanders Stanley Cups had in midtown? Funny but
her comment about the Devils and Rangers could easily be applied to
the Yankees fifth jersey's and the Rangers.
