This week will not make or break it, but when the go to Canada
just may if they do not get the necessary points this week.
> Call me a homer but I think the Isles beat the rags tomorrow. Fact
is they owe them one and owe them big time. As well as the rangers
are playing they are still the same team underneath the surface. I
dont see that as a reason to take them lightly but if the isles come
out hard they cant easily take the wind out of the rags sails. All
the pressure is on the rangers to win this one and that should give
the isles the advantage.

games than anyone else and thay are all loses. So even if the isles
lose they still have the edge on them. Beating them though would
make the death of the rags season all the more imminant.>>>>
I hope your right, I sure do. Rangers were the better team in
January and they seem twice as good now. They are healthy, the players
have some work in so they are confident, and this is an all-star
lineup that has gotten time to practice and rest. The defenders can
punish the opposition. What they did to the Isles last time they do
nightly to most teams now and they no longer have Lindros on wing or
Trottier to blame for themselves. And between Bure, Kovalev, the have
the Isles outgunned badly. Do not like writing it, but it's true.
The good news is the Isles are a better team as a group and one
thing that seems consistent about this league is anyone can beat
anyone. Isles only need the one win and by the next game Rangers may
be out or realistic contention. I'll settle for points and this is the
Isles chance to take a bite out of the Rangers on national television.
> The game at Tampa should be an easy win and i think the Isles will
be hungry for this game with a loss at the rangers. A win with the
rags shouldnt change things and they should still play this game
hard but i dont think there will be much of a sense of urgencey. The
bottom line for this one? I give the isles the edge because i dont
think tampa has the experience to handle big games down the stretch.>>
This is the big game, huge game. Isles need to stay ahead of this
team and they will be tired and hurting after the Rangers game,
regardless of result. Tampa just beat Ottawa and Khabibulin is
starting to play to his forum. Isles have to find points from this
game, I cannot see an easy game here because the Isles have no easy
games. Tampa is hungry and not going away.
> Boston will be a tough one because I stilll think they havent
forgotten about the 8-4 trouncing. On the contrary though as more
time goes on the Bruins seem to be more and more lost. They had a
big tie at the Colliseum and played well but they are looking like
the Isles did at the start of this season. Also the Bruins look like
time before Ftorek gets fired. As a matter of fact Ftorek could be
gone by the time this game starts. This would have a major impact.>>>
Boston is a solid home team. We'll see if the Isles can get the
goals necessary, but this is another very tough game in a place it's
hard for them to get points.
> As strange as this may sound I think the Devils game will be
the wild card game this week. Depending on how the week goes this
might be a good game to give some guys a little time off. I dont
want to see key guys get hurt in this game when we are coming down
the stretch and would be a good game to give Torres , Weinhandl,
Godard and Mapleoft some NHL minutes. I wanna see what these guys
can bring in a high pressure game and going into the playoffs it
would give the coach a good look at possible substitute in caes of
injuries in the post season. But only if the week goes well.>>>

I want to see who is still healthy or not by the end of the week,
or if MM adds a defender. With Butenschon/Le Tang in the lineup and
the lack of goals from this offense, this is really tough. I it's too
much and the Isles are in trouble but we'll see. One thing for sure,
players who do not score MUST FINISH, the goaltending must be great
and the team has to work at a much higher level than I have seen or it
will not be enough.
