I hear you, Isbister has got to go. The one thing I don't like is I
have heard a number of different times that Dave Scatchard is going to
be traded w/ Isbister(Palffy? Satan? Huselius?) They are our two biggest
powerforwards and to trade them together is a little scary. And to go
break up the 'Jason' line which is one of the top 5 best lines in hockey
to try to make the Yashin line better is a little nuts. Not to mention
our 'checking line' is perfectly suited for the playoffs. Though
Scatchards value will never be higher I don't know if it's a smart thing
to trade one of your best forwards. And if Isbister can not bring back
very good players by himself than don't trade him because I guarantee
that other teams have already offered some awesome players straight up
for Izzy at other times when Brad's trade value was much higher and
Milbury turned them down. Isbister's trade value has never been lower
than it is now. Other players rumored in trades per Spector's were
Isbister, Lapointe, Torres, Osgood and Scatchard. Supposedly the
Islanders are trying very hard to move Chris Osgood to the St.Louis
Blues. Lapointe is probably more of a salary dump. Raffi is probably a
substitute in all the Isbister deals. I know in the past other teams
would ask for Izzy and the Isles would respond w/ how about Torres
instead. Now I wouldn't be surprised if Raff's trade value has surpassed
Brad's. Torres makes 1.025 and Isbister makes 1.8.
So far teams struggling w/ payroll issues they might rather have a
player like Raffi.
I wonder if Milbury would trade Garth Snow for a 2nd rd draft pick
or a #5 defenseman? A month ago that's a no-brainer. Snow did help lead
the Flyers to the Stanley Cup w/ Hextall. Can we trust Snow and
DiPietro? If we can't trust either of them than how do you make a case
that they can't be traded? Here is another question..Can we trust Chris
Osgood in the playoffs?

Subject: [Islanders-SoundTigers] To deal or not to deal
Well it looks like now we'll get a chance to see how haunted
Milbury is by the Bertuzzi deal. In my opinion now might not be a
bad time to deal Isbister. Lets throw some sillyputty at the wall
and see if it sticks.
If florida wants to deal Husseleis I say grab the guy . what
could it hurt . After all the guys a lefty shot and might be a
perfect fit with Yashin.
Also given the nature of the trade deadline this might be a good
time to get a physical D-man. There are plenty of teams that are out
of the mix that would be willing to make that deal for Isbister.
This team is in a different space now and Isbister just isnt going
to get it done here. Look at all the guys on this team who have
picked up there games and its clear that he hasnt answered the call.
Given the guys production I dont think it matters who they pick up
because anyone else would have a greater impact on this team than he
has. This guy doesnt stick up for his teammates and sure as hell
doesnt put points up on the board.
